I am a 23 year old man, dating a 15 year old girl. She is extremely mature and sensible and very intelligent, and we are sincerely in love. Her mother and sisters are cruel to her and constantly verbally abuse her.
Her mother doesn’t want us to be together. From a legal standpoint, what are the girl’s rights to go out and make her decisions in Arizona at the ages of 15, 16, and 17? This includes leaving the house, the mother’s ability to block her from seeing me, etc.

She is a minor. She has NO rights. If she wants to leave the house before she’s 18, she needs to go to court and get emancipated.
And if I was her mother, I wouldn’t let you see her either.

She is a minor..she has no right to defy her mother…as for you..you are in line for being on megans list for life after a few years in prison…even if you kiss her is illegal.

If I were you I would back out of this situation before the mother has you arrested for statuatory rape which is the mothers right. Mature or not she is only 15 and you are 23.
NONE. Most states in this country consider 18 to be the legal age. If she is 15, her mother could have you arrested. And if mom were to find out you are having sex with her daughter, she could have you charged with statutory rape in any state in the USA

A 23 yr old dating a 15 yr old is considered statutory rape in all 50 states. If you decide to do anything other than holding hands you will get jail time, and have to carry the tag of child rapist for the rest of your life. The child is not worth this, walk away.

thats a lot of legals there…verbal abuse if proven and very harsh can be considered enough to get her removed from the house… as for the part of you two dating i can’t you out there that much… call a lawyer to see about getting her out of the house you can speak to them for free over the phone…
The child is still a minor regardless how mature she may seem to be. She has no legal right as a minor. You have a position where you can be charged for contributing to the delinquency of a minor and in this state that is a serious offense punishable with prison time. Apparently you are not too mature yourself.
She’s got no rights to make her own decisions about things like that until she’s 18. She’s a child and if you have any sexual contact with her, you’re considered a child molester and can be imprisoned for that and then you won’t have to worry about it. It’s a Felony in any state – which means State Prison, not County Jail. It doesn’t matter how mature or intelligent she is. She’s a child and you’re an adult.
At the moment she has NO rights, as she is a minor. She can approach a judge to request to be emancipated and that would give her full rights to live her own life. However, it may still not be legal for you to do naughty things together, so it may not be in your best interest to bring any courts into the equation if anything like that has happened.

In some states, it will be 10-25 years (at least 7 in most cases…ever hear of Mary Kay Letourneou?) in prison and again, have to register for life as a child sexual predator.
hmm I’m dutch so I don’t know about the ages in your country but with us it is 18 years old to be able to leave the house. and also when a men is older than 18 and the girl is younger than 18 it is illegal for you to have sex and I’m pretty sure also dating. but I’m not sure for how far her mother can stop you.

I”m sorry to tell you this, but she is still considered a minor..No Matter how mature she seems. The only way to probably intervene on her behalf is to call Child Protective Services if things at home are really that bad. Or just hang in there until she is considered to be an adult whether that be age 16,17 or 18 depending on the state. Note that means she may have to move out of her mom’s house if she is going to defy her rules

When she gets mad at you in the next couple of years, she has the right to go to the Police, and have you jailed for twenty years, and branded as a Sex Offender for life.
Now, what are the chances that’ll happen. I’d say they’re near 100%, because the reason you even want to date a 15 year old is probably because that’s your emotional maturity level. By the time she’s 18, chances are very good that she’s going to outgrow you and want to be around an adult. You’re going to react childishly, and that’s when she’s going to call the Police.

It is illegal she cannot give legal consent unless she is 16, if you make any move on her you will be arrested and you will be charged with indecentcy with a minor. if you are having sex with her then you can be charged with statutory rape and that is not a good thing on record because it is a felony. I advise you not to do anything with her until she is old enough, if her parents want you to stay away I advise you to do as they say to keep you out of trouble. If you’re really sincerely in love, you’d know to get away from her until she’s old enough to make sound decisions, and 15 ain’t it.
By the way, when you’re arrested the police will seize your computer and all the emails etc between you and her will be fair game in your prosecution. Don’t say I didn’t tell you so.

She has no rights, basically, at 15. Her mother can dictate her comings and goings. If she defies her mother to go with you, mom could file a missing persons report, and you could be in trouble with the law.
If she is in an abusive situation, she should contact Child & Youth Services (or you should). When she hits 16, she could file for an emancipation if she can show she is able to make it on her own.

3 years difference makes it illegal if one is over 18, that could be statutory rape (if you ya know), but if you truly love her take it easy until she is 18
