14 November 2009 223 views 4 Comments

Hi, I left Manhattan in 1998 and need to come back for work. I have 2 kids, separated, and barely no income until I have the job. I live abroad for the time being. Has anyone any leads or tips on how to get into a city or governement sponsored-program? or else?

In Manhattan? The waiting lists are years long (as in 10 to 20) for subsidized housing and for any type of housing lottery you need to already be a NYC resident.
Your best bet would be in Jersey City, Union City, North Bergen or Hoboken. All are just minutes into NYC, by either PATH, NJ Transit bus or commuter van.
If you are really set on living in Manhattan, you will need a lot of money to get into a place. http://www.nyc.gov/html/housinginfo/html…
You can also try http://www.craigslist.com for a wide variety of apartments in the city.

With a computer at home and internet connection, you can start earning from home, without any investment. You should choose your work at home job according to your skills and time available.
If you have a good typing speed, general and legal transcription jobs from companies like Mountain West, Tigerfish and Accutran are available. Some of these companies do not require any experience.
You can apply directly from their websites which are listed athttp://tinyurl.com/o65rb
Medical transcription work at home is also available if you have completed a course and have relevant experience.
