What Is The Best Way To Communicate In Person The 1st Time With Someone You Met From An Online Dating Service?

I am meeting someone for the first time in person. We meet on eharmony. Any one know the Rules of Engagement for online dating? It just feels unnatural but being a Christian makes it harder to find places to meet new people.

You are the one more at risk in a situation like this so you need to take precautions ,ask him to meet you in a busy place for example out side the supermarket front door at 1.00pm and to carry or wear something so you will recognise him. Do not tell him what you will wear , when you arrive act like just another shopper and check him out , almost certainly he will look ok and so you go to a nearby coffee shop that you have selected and you sit and chat for as long as possible , it can’t be a rushed meeting , be sure to pay for yourself so you don’t feel in debt to him. Do not give him your address or last name , say that you need more time to think about a possible follow up meeting and go your separate ways be sure he does not follow you, Then in your own space and time you can relax and decide how you feel about him . Sounds very like a spy movie I know but there are some nutcases who use online dating to literally find a victim .Explain this to him before your meeting and if he agrees with you fine if not the friendship ends right there.
