Miami with a lot of colleges near by but the cost of living is high but there is a ton of stuff to do and a lot of younger people there.
Orlando or Tampa are good choice. I would choose Tampa over Orlando because the crime rate in Orlando is getting out of hand. The cost of living is better than Miami.
Anything on the west coast south of Tampa/St. Pete area is retirement city so you will not have a lot of people your age there to socialize with. The West Palm area sucks and is overly priced.
I’d pick Orlando. As for the public university, the University of Central Florida located just north of Orlando in Oviedo (literally, just north. UCF is considered part of Orlando and has several colleges in Orlando proper)
