i don’t know that any site is better than the other. every site has it’s share of BSers that act like they want a serious relationship and don’t. but if you’re willing to sort through them (whether it be on traditional dating sites or just chat sites in general), i think your chances of meeting a partner would be greatly improved.
6 years ago, i met my boyfriend of 5 years on a general forum i used to post on. i never told anyone cause i was embarrassed, but then i slowly discovered that sooo many couples i knew had met online. and the ones that met online were the ones i saw in very serious relationships or married.
my cousin was telling me how she met her boyfriend on craigslist and she told me she went through a lot of creeps first. they emailed back and forth and had a base to start on by the time they met in person. he’s not even her ideal type physically, but she said that after how they connected online, she wouldn’t care how he looked. she knew he was the guy for her.

It’s better than just meeting some body off the street b/c on the street you have a slim shot of meeting someone at the right time. Much less worrying about appearence/ the spark the first time around if something pretty major comes up untill much later! Flip it around, like meeting somebody from the inside out.
