I Cannot Find A Wheelchair Footplate Which Can Be Fitted Over (or In Place Of) The Existing Footplate?

14 February 2010 253 views 5 Comments

The wheelchair is for an elderly lady with dementia, she continually pushes her feet forward and the come off the footplate, risking damage to herself. It seems as if the plate should be single rather than divided, and more square.

    COMPLETE FEET
Complete Feet is a foot support designed for use by individuals who use wheelchairs. This foam-padded unit covers the footplates, extends to the calf, and attaches to the chair with heavy-duty straps to help protect and control flaccid feet.

See if you can find a local metalworker who could make you one and maybe you could make cakes or jam or something in exchange rather than paying for services rendered. No payment, just trade in your skills. A new world!!

try making one but make it longer than her feet can go so her feet don’t slip off and hurt her self..
