Where Is The Best Place For A Single Girl In Her Late Twenties With Two Dogs To Move To?

6 February 2010 177 views 16 Comments

I am a girl who currently lives in Chapel Hill, NC and finishing up school. I have lived in this town my whole life and I want to move away once I graduate college. I am majoring in Surgical Technology. I don’t know where to move to.
I would love to live in a bigger city. One preferable with public transportation like a metro or something similar. I want someplace that is safe for a girl to live alone and with friendly people. It also has to be dog friendly because I have two dogs, one large and one small. I would like a place with a fairly decent night life too if possible.
Can you suggest anything?

I lived in Seattle and loved it. Seattle is the most laid back, down to earth city I have ever seen and I have been to most of them. Its right next to the ocean, very beautiful and lots of modern progressive thinking people. Its is a really great city and personally I think it is perfect for a single girl. It is a great place.
Your dogs will love it too, just outside the city there are SO many places to hike mountain climb. If you like the outdoors Seattle is a great city to be in.

i would have to say twin cities in minnesota. i went there one year on vaccation and i had so much fun. it is probably one of the safest states out there. it does get a lil cold out in the winter but you learn to live with it i guess. i think it would be a great place and with the two dogs you could live in the suburbs. another great thing about mn is the fall in northern MN.

North areas of the city of Leeds, England
Great people, nice areas, lots of parks for dogs
Unfortunately Europe’s largest city without a metro or light rail system
UK’s 3rd biggest city after London and Birmingham
UK’s favourite city and massive opportunities for financial jobs
    UK’s primary centre for shopping
(also the UK’s sexiest city so if you’re single and looking it may be an option)

Seattle Washington. Highest wages in the US as well. It is also great on recreation. Voted frequently as the best city in the US.
I don’t live there. But visit frequently. Loads of good hospitals as well.

What about Boston? I have only visited so I don’t know if it fits in every way you want, but Boston is a fun place with good transit.
